Morning Edges returns in November for a special session in support of The Disaster School. The theme this year is ‘Love’, but don’t worry, I haven’t become all romantic, it’s about love of the Self, the Other, Nature and the Unknown.

As before, we will meet daily from 9am-10am (Irish Time) and come when you want and as you are. This one-hour Zoom session is divided into four pockets to support your practice and self-care: meditation, journalling, reading and responding. We change genres every day, and on Fridays, we will have an Editing Lab, where I zoom in on a particular editing tool.

And towards the end of the programme, we will have two very special guests who will share their craft and experience: Kevin Barry & Nick Laird.

James Baldwin wrote:

‘Love has never been a popular movement. And no one’s ever wanted, really, to be free. The world is held together, really, it is held together, by the love and the passion of a very few people. Otherwise, of course, you can despair. Walk down the street of any city, any afternoon, and look around you. What you’ve got to remember is what you’re looking at is also you. Everyone you’re looking at is also you. You could be that person. You could be that monster, you could be that cop. And you have to decide, in yourself, not to be.’

So in the spirit of James Baldwin, let’s create our own unpopular movement of love through writing.
